CASE MANAGEMENT

1. ASSESSMENT SCHEDULING

A request to your dedicated case management agent ignites the journey to obtaining the medico-legal reports required to prove your claimant’s damages. Simply tell us which disciplines you require, and we’ll manage the coordination and bookings to ensure your claimant is seen by all required experts in the most convenient way possible.

2. FUNDAnet

Not in the mood to print and deliver hundreds of papers to the experts? Committed to doing your part to save the environment? Upload your claimant’s documents to our centralised, POPIA compliant, document storage site, called FundaFree. All experts appointed to the case have on demand access to your claimant’s documentation. Make sure nothing gets lost in translation, or emails! 3. THE CLAIMANT JOURNEY

Your claimant’s assessments are scheduled by your Case Management Agent with convenience and time constraints in mind. Gone are the days where the Orthopaedic Surgeon is seen in Krugersdorp and the Occupational Therapist is Benoni and then a quick trip to Pretoria to see the Industrial Psychologist. One centralised location enables the Case Management Agent to schedule your claimant’s journey in a logical and seamless manner to ensure all assessments are done within the shortest time possible delivering cost effective results and minimal claimant frustration.

4. THE EXPERT JOURNEY

The diaries of our experts are managed based on available days and daily capacity. We do our utmost to ensure a full assessment day for an expert. Each expert has a direct line to what we call an expert liaison to whom the expert can direct all questions, concerns or queries.

5. THE GOLDEN THREAD

Each claimant at FundaMedical undergoes what
we call a “Golden Thread”. That is a document
placed on FundaFree for each client containing
basic information. This is done to ensure all experts work from the same basic information when completing their reports. This does not influence an opinion whatsoever, but ensures all experts have the correct accident date and home address for example.

6. REPORT PRODUCTION COORDINATION

Our production team is committed to working with our experts to ensure reports are produced in the shortest timeframe possible. We have regard for the time pressures faced by Legal Practitioners and private practice commitments of experts. We balance these factors and support experts with clear instruction on priority. We bridge the gap through by coordinating the Legal Practitioner’s requests and the expert’s capacity.

7. QUERIES OR QUESTIONS?

Legal Practitioner, not happy with a report? Have questions for the expert to clarify? Expert, unsure of the instruction? Need more information to give a final opinion? Let us know! We support experts and Legal Practitioners in finding solutions to queries to ensure the claimant has the best possible objective case. Gain direct access to our medico-legal experts. If you have technical questions, we seamlessly arrange a forum between you and the specialist to ensure full clarity and precision.

8. REPORT FLOW MANAGEMENT

Your dedicated Case Management Agent is committed to ensuring a tailored report flow that meets the requirements of your unique case. As expert reports are produced, the Case Management Agent ensures that the next instructed expert in line is informed to proceed to complete their report.

This process ensures a seamless completion of expert reports in the most streamlined manner possible in line with the Legal Practitioner’s tailored report flow.

9. INVOICING

Once a report is produced, an invoice is generated on behalf of the appointed expert. This removes the administrative burden from the expert and ensures the Legal Practitioner receives an invoice based on the agreed upon pricing structure. Each Law Firm is allocated a finance pod tasked with ensure each report is accompanied by an invoice.

10. STATEMENTS

The dedicated finance pod is responsible for ensuring that every Law Firm receives a statement at the beginning of each month that reflects all new invoices issued, provides an ageing analysis of outstanding payments and captures all payments made.

11. AFFIDAVITS

Our onsite and travelling commissioner of oaths ensures affidavits get done without hassle or fuss. When experts assess at FundaMedical, a file is prepared with all outstanding affidavits. Two birds, one stone kind of situation. Expert not in the building? No problem, our travelling commissioner comes to you and gets the job done.

FundaMedical stores the original affidavits and arranges monthly pick up / delivery with the
various law firms.

12. JOINT MINUTES

If your matter is defended, it can be an uphill
battle to engage with a defence expert.

We handle the coordination of getting the joint minute drafted by the plaintiff’s expert
and contact the defence expert to provide
a completed product ready for court.

13. PRE-TRIAL CONSULTATIONS

Should your counsel need to consult with one of our experts before trial, just let us know and we’ll arrange the meeting with the expert. For the expert’s convenience, we try to arrange it on an assessment day at FundaMedical’s office. This way we can ensure on-time attendance, a stable
internet connection and manage any unforeseen issues that might pop-up.

14. COURT RESERVATIONS & APPEARANCE

Time to go to court? The admin around this can be quite tedious, right? We weren’t kidding when we said we are with you every step of the way! Our dedicated court department has your back. Why contact five different experts and hope everyone responds when you can just contact one person?

When a matter is set down for trial and an expert may be required to testify, let us know to reserve the expert for court. We advise the expert of the reservation and manage any diary conflicts that arise. Should the expert be required to testify, we will update them. Should the appearance not be local to where the expert is based, we assist with transport, flight and accommodation arrangements.

15. KEY ACCOUNTS CONSULTANT

Your dedicated Key Accounts Consultant is entrusted with supporting your firm’s unique needs with care and attention. Their role is to build a trusted, long-term relationship with your Legal Practitioner and team—one where you feel confident to raise concerns, knowing they will be heard, addressed, and resolved with a focus on achieving meaningful and lasting improvements.
